Description

This Post-doctoral program is a program for developing human resource capacity through the mobility of researchers in the form of collaborative research at BRIN, for Indonesian citizens or foreigners who have just completed their higher education doctoral program.

Objectives

To improve the competence of human resource researchers so as to contribute to improving the national research and innovation climate through increasing the number of publications in high-reputation scientific journals, innovative products, and establishing national or international research collaborations.

General Requirements

• • Indonesian citizens or foreign nationals;
• • Maximum 5 (five) years after graduating from Doctoral program;
• • Have an existing research collaboration or correspondence with BRIN researchers;
• • Has no affiliation with any institution;
• • Have experience and expertise relevant to the chosen topic of expertise and evidence of a track record (portfolio) of research and innovation activities;
• • Foreign nationals are required to obtain an immigration permit in accordance with the provisions of the applicable laws;
• • Sign the commitment document for the implementation of the Post-doctoral program;

Postdoctoral program participants are required to communicate and coordinate with relevant research groups to ensure alignment of their research with the vision, mission, and roadmap of the respective institution. A list of research activities and BRIN Research Groups that require Postdoctoral participants can be seen at the following link: https://s.brin.go.id/l/KEBUTUHAN-PDBRIN-2025

Researcher in Charge (host)

The researcher in charge is a BRIN ASN Researcher who serves as a host to the Postdoctoral participant. The requirements for the researcher in charge are as follows:

• •  Must hold a Doctoral degree (S3).  
• • Must have active or ongoing research activities.  
• • Must not be on study or training leave for more than six (6) months. 
• • Must not currently serve as a researcher in charge for another active Postdoctoral participant.  
• • For those who have previously hosted Postdoctoral participants, must have achieved the required output targets according to program requirements.  
• • For those who have been Postdoctoral participants at BRIN, must have met the output targets according to program requirements.

Duration

The program will be held for 1 year and can be extended for 1 more year based on the evaluation results by the Directorate of Talent Management, National Research and Innovation Agency.

Incentives

Participants of the programs would be given living allowance incentives. The amount of the incentives is determined in accordance with the provisions of the legislation.

Rights and Obligations

Post-doctoral participants have the right to:

• • Get incentives according to the regulations.
• • Using equipment and facilities in accordance with the scope of research activities carried out by the host research group.

Post-doctoral participants have the obligation to:

• • Participants are required to carry out research activities in accordance with their field of expertise,  at the research center homebase location at BRIN, full-time, for the duration as stipulated in the Decree of the Deputy for Human Resources, Science and Technology, National Research and Innovation Agency.
• • Participants must tap attendance on the information system every working day in the morning and the afternoon (from 9 AM at the latest to 3 PM at the earliest ).
• • Participants are required to prepare a roadmap for output achievement at the start of the Post-doctoral program.
• • Participants are required to upload monthly reports on activities or research progress on the information system at the end of each month.
• • Participants are required to upload the final report on research activities and evidence of research output on the information system at the end of the Post-doctoral program implementation.
